Empowering the Tribal Community: Olivia Foundation Leads Social Development Discussion at Naduppathy

At Olivia Foundation, our mission has always been rooted in creating meaningful change where it is needed most. Recently, we had the privilege of engaging with the tribal community in Naduppathy, Walayar, to discuss and implement strategies for their social and economic upliftment.

As the CMD of Olivia Foundation, I was honored to inaugurate the Social Development Discussion held at Naduppathy. This initiative was not just about dialogue; it was about laying the groundwork for sustainable growth and addressing the unique challenges faced by the tribal community.

Key Highlights of the Initiative:

  • Honoring Community Elders: In a gesture of respect for local tradition and wisdom, we honored the Ooru Moopans (tribal chieftains) during the event. Their guidance is vital to the success of any developmental work in the region.
  • Infrastructure and Mobility: Understanding the geographical challenges of the area, Olivia Foundation has pledged to provide an Electric Vehicle to improve transportation and connectivity for the residents of Naduppathy.
  • Employment and Education: We are committed to fostering self-reliance. As part of this, the foundation will facilitate employment opportunities for selected individuals from the community. Furthermore, we held extensive discussions regarding the educational hurdles faced by children in the colony, seeking long-term solutions to ensure every child has access to quality learning.
  • Essential Utilities: Access to clean water is a fundamental right. We have assured the community that Olivia Foundation will take proactive steps to ensure a steady water supply reaches every household in the area.

A Collaborative Effort

The event saw participation from various stakeholders, including local governance and forest department officials. We were joined by:

  • Puthussery Panchayat Ward Member, Albert Kumar.
  • Beat Forest Officers, C. Binish and V. Ranjith, who pledged the Forest Department’s support.
  • School Headmistress, C. Helen, and local residents who shared their valuable insights.
  • Our dedicated team members, including Ajithkumar Varma and Adv. Sir C. Ramakrishnan.

Our Commitment

Our work at Naduppathy is just the beginning. At Olivia Foundation, we believe that true development happens when the community is an active partner in the process. We are dedicated to ensuring that the tribal communities of Walayar are no longer left behind but are empowered with the resources, education, and infrastructure they deserve.

Stay tuned to this space for more updates on our ongoing projects.
